PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens’ lapses in effort have become a troubling trend that his head coach is working desperately to fix and now the national media is beginning to pick up on it as well. NBC Sports’ Peter King went on 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh this week to rip the young Steelers wideout for his lack of effort and saying his potential doesn’t make up for not going 100% on every play.
“What George Pickens is doing right now is absolutely, totally, unacceptable,” King said. “I don’t really care how great he could be or should be, I care about how great he is and he’s not great right now. There are plays were he absolutely dogs it.” King also wrote in his Week 15 “Football Morning in America” column that Pickens is looking less and less like the superstar that was promised during a stellar preseason with the Steelers and more like a player teams would want to avoid having on their team.
“I think the more I see George Pickens loaf, the more I think I wouldn’t want the man on my team,” King said. Make sure you bookmark All Steelers for the latest news, exclusive interviews, film breakdowns and so much more!
