Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett was spotted at practice today.
The extent to which he practice is yet to be known, and will remain that way until Tuesday’s injury report is released, but Pickett was spotted in uniform with his teammates.
Pickett left at the end of the first half of the Steelers’ game against the Arizona Cardinals after diving head first toward the goal line, injuring his ankle in the process. He had been dealing with soreness in his ankle leading up to the game, and it worsened on the play so much that he got surgery the next morning to help speed of the heeling process. The classification was an ankle sprain.
The Steelers lost to the Cardinals, and the subsequent two games to the Patriots and Colts, respectively, falling to 7-7. Head coach Mike Tomlin said the door was “ajar” for Pickett to play this Saturday against the Bengals, but that the Steelers are planning to start Mason Rudolph if he can’t suit up.
