NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year 2021, Ja’Marr Chase, has been ruled out of the Bengals’ next match, which is going to be against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
According to Pro Football Talk, the news has been confirmed by the head coach, Zac Taylor. The NFL rookie record-setter suffered a sprained acromioclavicular (AC) joint during the game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Bengals clinched that victory, but Chase was unable to finish the game due to his injury.
According to PFT via the team’s official website, the head coach listed Chase’s injury as “week-to-week”. Defensive tackle DJ Reader also suffered a torn right quad tendon during the Vikings game, subsequently ending his NFL season.
In place of Chase, the Bengals will be turning to Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd, the wide receivers who will be with the squad for the next game. Chase played in fourteen games this season and posted 93 catches for 1,156 yards, including seven touchdowns.
