UPDATE :Pittsburgh Steelers Star Antonio Brown Says Team Should Be Begging for His

The Kansas City Chiefs lost again on Christmas Day, falling to the Las Vegas Raiders, 20-14. The Chiefs have lost four of their last six and, despite housing two-time MVP quarterback Patrick Mahomes, have looked lost on offense. Antonio Brown is among the best wide receivers of the past twenty seasons. The Central Michigan product starred for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2014 to 2017, earning All-Pro honors each season while leading the league in receiving yards twice. Brown has eclipsed 1,100 seven times in his career, highlighted by posting 1,834 receiving yards in 2015. The speedy wideout left Pittsburgh in 2019, joining the New England Patriots but playing in just one game. He shifted to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020, winning the Super Bowl in his first season with the NFC South club. He had eight catches for two touchdowns during his team’s playoff run. 

Brown played in seven games with the Bucs in 2021, but off-the-field issues and him leaving a contest mid-game resulted in his release. Despite his free-agent status, the four-time All-Pro has been at the center of much scrutiny this season. His antics, mostly seen on social media, have resulted in a backlash towards the former star wideout. 

The Chiefs are undergoing an awful offensive season compared to years past. The Chiefs entered 2023 with six straight seasons in the top ten of the league regarding points per game scored. However, Kansas City will likely break that streak after Sunday’s performance. The receiver room has been exceptionally disappointing, with late-game drops and missed assignments hurting quarterback Patrick Mahomes. 

Wide Receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped a potential game-winning touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 11. At the same time, fellow wideout Kadarius Toney got hit with an offensive offsides penalty in Week 14, negating the go-ahead touchdown with less than two minutes remaining. Drops have also been an issue, with the Chiefs being among the worst teams in the NFL regarding that statistic.
